The Customer
Peachtree Corners is a vibrant and diverse city in Gwinnett County, Georgia. As the largest city in one of the most culturally diverse counties in the U.S., it is deeply committed to strengthening community ties.
Post-pandemic, the city’s leadership focused on restoring its sense of place by connecting residents, businesses, nonprofits, and schools through inclusive public engagement. Events were central to this strategy – but managing them across multiple stakeholders was a major challenge.

The Challenges
Prior to implementing ‘with’, Peachtree Corners faced a range of organizational and operational barriers:
- Scattered Event Information: City departments, chambers, schools, nonprofits, and businesses all run separate calendars, so residents lack a unified view of community happenings.
- Manual Coordination Burden: “In the past, they would have to send us their events. We would manually have to put them in… So it’s two different pieces,” explained Svehla.
- High Marketing Costs, Low ROI: “We had to hang banners, do a lot of marketing, spend a lot of dollars on trying to place ads or trying through social media and hope it gets shared.”
- Event Overlaps & Gaps: Without a shared view, conflicts in scheduling were common, leading to divided attention and reduced attendance.

“We had to hang banners, do a lot of marketing, spending a lot of dollars on trying to place ads or trying through social media and hope it gets shared.”

The Solution
To unify its event ecosystem, Peachtree Corners implemented the ‘with’ Community Calendar – an automated, centralized hub designed for community-wide participation.
- Automated Data Integration: APIs connected with the Chamber of Commerce and Business Association calendars. “It is one step versus multiple steps. Super simple to set up,” said Svehla. “When they create or update an event, it syncs automatically – no need to call us.”
- Community Contribution: Smaller nonprofits, clubs, and even schools were empowered to add events, creating broad-based participation.
- One Destination for Discovery: Residents gained access to a single calendar showcasing all types of city happenings – from sports and theater to fundraisers and festivals.
- Cross-Promotion: Events now reach wider audiences through shared visibility across all participating organizations.
"We can provide this platform and this service for definitely less time and less money than we were doing prior to trying to do it ourselves."
Louis Svehla, Director of Communications and Events, Peachtree Corners

Conclusion
The results were significant—both in hard savings and community value:
- Operational Efficiency: Manual entry was virtually eliminated, saving hours of staff time and reducing errors. “We can provide this platform and this service for definitely less time and less money than we were doing prior to trying to do it ourselves,” noted Svehla.
- Increased Participation: A Chamber event that usually drew 20 attendees doubled to 40 when listed on the calendar. The city’s “Bark at the Park” saw a substantial year-over-year increase in turnout. “We know it’s working because more people are at our events. So we are accomplishing our mission of being able to bring people together, and that’s only going to grow,” said Svehla.
- Partner Enthusiasm: “The buy-in was very easy,” said Svehla. “We have businesses, organizations, nonprofits, and school systems as partners… It was beyond receptive. They couldn’t wait to join.”
- Inclusion & Representation: “We have a large Hispanic and Asian contingent… Giving them a platform to reach out and invite other members of the community to their events only builds a greater bond between all of us.”
- Smarter Resource Allocation: Paid promotions were reduced in favor of organic visibility and community sharing.
"I can get a contractor anytime, but to have a partner like 'with' that’s invested in our success - that’s what makes this partnership really work."
Louis Svehla, Director of Communications and Events, Peachtree Corners
As part of its ongoing strategy, Peachtree Corners plans to integrate the ‘with’ calendar into a new mobile app and display events on touchscreen digital kiosks throughout the city—further expanding accessibility and visibility.
Peachtree Corners transformed its events calendar from a basic administrative tool into a citywide connector. For other municipalities, the case shows how a well-implemented platform like ‘with’ can unify diverse stakeholders, enhance civic pride, and deliver meaningful ROI.
